1937 Duesenberg SJ Town Car Chassis 2405 by Rollson for Mr. Rudolf Bauer
This beautiful and unusual car, Duesenberg SJ-397 (Chassis No. 2405), also known as “The Rudolf Bauer Duesenberg, was designed by and made for the famous German artist, Rudolf Bauer. This car is known as “The Last Duesenberg” because the chassis were purchased after Duesenberg’s closing in 1937.
A special body was finally realized and delivered to Mr. Bauer by Rollson in 1940, a coachbuilder that prior to 1938 was known as Rollston (New York, USA). Rollston specialized in Town Cars or Town Cabriolets – a limousine that features an open chauffeur’s compartment and leather-covered, closed rear quarters.
