Auburn Automobile Company designer Gordon Buehrig styled the Cord 810 and 812. This 1937 ivory-colored Cord is a well restored, numbers-matching example of the convertible coupe body style. The company offered six different body styles for the Cord in 1937; all included the option of a supercharger. There were approximately three thousand Cords produced in 1936 and 1937. Cord production ended in August of 1937, signaling the end of the Auburn Automobile Company. Driven during World War II, a sticker on the windshield shows an "A" mileage ration issued to the general public allowing the owner to purchase up to four gallons of gas per week. Technical: The 1937 Cord convertible coupe is powered by a V-8 engine with a 289 cubic-inch displacement. Supercharged, the engine produces 175 horsepower. The wheelbase of this car is 125 inches. As new, the 1937 Cord cost $3,010. Only sixty-four Cord 812 convertible coupes were produced with a supercharger.
