Auburn Automobile Company designer Gordon Buehrig created the Cord 810 and 812 line of body styles. This 1937 Cord is a well restored, numbers-matching example of the phaeton body style. The phaeton seats five people and has a convertible top. The Auburn Automobile Company offered six different body styles for the Cord in 1937. All styles included the option of a supercharger. A dealer installed option included additional chromium vents located at the front of the hood. Since the supercharged Cords were inclined to overheat, the hood vents were a means to provide additional air to the engine in an effort to keep it running cooler.
