Legendary locals of Auburn, Indiana is written by a lifelong resident of Auburn, Chad Gramling.

Growing up in Auburn, one is immersed in the small automotive city affectionately called, the Home of the Classics.

Auburn's auto history includes the Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg marques built by the citizens of Auburn from 1900 through 1937 at the Auburn Automobile Company. Surrounding the cars were people in the community, both then and now, that have advanced over the years a hometown story of vibrant history.

These individuals have maintained Auburn as the loveliest village on the plain, as poet Oliver Goldsmith once described in a poem. Gramling's exploration of Auburn does not spotlight Auburn's auto history as much as the locals who desired to keep this important history alive.

Anyone who has visited the small city of Auburn during the world-renown annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival will instantly recognize Gramling's book theme; there are (and were) legendary Auburn locals that keep Auburn, Indiana a Forever and Honest Endeavor village of rich history that will not wain and whither away like so many other small towns. Learn of these individuals contribute to this lasting effort.

Non-fiction history of Auburn, Indiana, its local personalities, and its contribution to America's automotive history.
