Created with beautiful lines and equipped with a supercharger, this 1935 Auburn 851 was designed to maximize potential speed and make a social statement. With beautiful lines on every facet of the car, Auburn Automobile Company designer Gordon Buehrig created an attractive automobile. Fitted with a supercharger, the engine output measured 150 horsepower. Each model had a plaque indicating that legendary racer Ab Jenkins road tested the car to over 100 miles per hour. As one of the earlier Speedsters to come off the line, the Boattail rear end is steeper and more pronounced than the later Speedsters built in 1935. The 1935 Auburn Speedster, driven by Jenkins, set 70 new American and international stock car records and was the first American stock car to exceed 100 miles per hours in a 12-hour period.
