The final year of production for the Auburn Automobile was 1936. The company went out with style, building such beautiful classics as this right-hand drive, supercharged Cabriolet. One of the interesting features of this vehicle built for export to England is its European-style trafficators, the small, illuminated indicator arms that emerge from slots in each side of the car to signal a turn. The donors of this vehicle spent six years researching and gathering parts for the restoration of this automobile. When the restoration was completed in 1983, the car captured a successive string of impressive awards including the Best Senior Class Car in the United States from the Antique Automobile Club of America. Technical: This 1936 Auburn 852 Cabriolet is powered by a 279.9 cubic-inch displacement Lycoming in-line eight-cylinder engine. With the optional supercharger, this motor produces 150 horsepower. The wheelbase measures 127 inches and the car weighs 3,730 pounds.
